GREEN TEA iCECREAM

  • 2 tablespoons powdered green tea
  • 4 tablespoons boiling water
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 10 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 1 1/3 cups heavy cream

Homemade green tea ice cream recipe:

Pour boiling water on green tea powder and leave it like that for 10 minutes.

Separately mix egg yolks with sugar. Gradually pour milk in it, while you mix it all the time. Put the egg yolks on low heat and stir it all the way, till it becomes foamy and thick (for 10-15 minutes). Remove it from heat and cool it for few minutes (keep stirring it).

Combine green tea with cooled egg yolks and mix it together. Whip the heavy cream, pour it in the green tea mass and stir it softly with a whisk.

Pour the green tea cream in ice cream maker and proceed according to instructions for use. This is very refreshing Japanese dessert recipe for hot summer days and I am sure you’ll like it.
